At Kingdom University Hospital, this message resonates deeply with our vision. Although our hospital is scheduled to open next year, our commitment to patient safety is already shaping every aspect of our planning and preparation.
For us, patient safety begins long before the first patient walks through our doors. It starts with thoughtful design, careful planning, and systems that put quality and safety at the center of every decision. The foundations we establish today will define the care we provide for years to come.
As part of this commitment, we are creating a healthcare environment that supports safe, reliable, and patient-centered care through:
- Designing facilities that promote patient safety and operational efficiency while reducing clinical risks.
- Developing evidence-based clinical policies and practice guidelines aligned with international standards and strengthened through our affiliation with UCLA Health.
- Establishing an integrated Quality and Patient Safety Program that supports continuous improvement across all hospital services.
- Fostering a culture of collaboration, transparency, accountability, and continuous learning among healthcare professionals.
- Investing in advanced medical technologies and digital solutions that enhance clinical decision-making, communication, and patient outcomes.
Noncommunicable diseases, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, and chronic respiratory disease, represent some of the greatest healthcare challenges worldwide. Caring for people with these conditions extends far beyond treatment alone. Safe care must be ensured throughout the continuum of care, including prevention, early detection, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, self-management, and, when needed, palliative care.
Recognizing this responsibility, Kingdom University Hospital is being developed to provide coordinated, multidisciplinary care supported by internationally recognized clinical practices.
Our approach includes:
- Implementing standardized, evidence-based clinical pathways.
- Promoting close collaboration among physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and allied health professionals.
- Establishing robust medication safety systems designed to reduce preventable harm.
- Implementing reliable patient identification and effective communication processes.
- Actively engaging patients and families as partners in care and decision-making.
- Ensuring coordinated follow-up and continuity of care throughout each patient’s healthcare journey.
- Continuously monitoring quality indicators to evaluate performance and drive ongoing improvement.
As we prepare to open next year, our focus extends beyond constructing a modern hospital. We are establishing the culture, systems, and standards that will enable us to deliver safe, compassionate, and high-quality healthcare from the first day of operation.
On this World Patient Safety Day, we proudly join healthcare organizations around the world in supporting the call for “Safe Care for Noncommunicable Diseases.” We believe that every action taken today to strengthen patient safety contributes to healthier communities and better outcomes for future generations.
