Nursing for the community

Our integrated centers of care bring together expert nurses in areas such as Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Neurosciences, Orthopedics, Oncology, Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, and Geriatrics. Whether managing complex cardiac conditions, supporting pediatric care, or providing critical care in life-threatening situations, our nurses are integral to delivering exceptional, patient-centered care at every stage of life.

Zero Harm Vision

At the Kingdom University Hospital, we are committed to ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality in patient care. Our Zero Harm Program empowers nurses to take an active role in identifying risks and implementing strategies to eliminate preventable harm, fostering a culture of safety across the hospital.

Pain Management Initiative

We are dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care, with a special focus on effective pain management. Nurses will focus on both pharmacological and holistic strategies to assess and manage patient pain with empathy and evidence-based interventions to optimize comfort. Our goal is to provide the highest level of care, reducing discomfort and improving patient satisfaction at every stage of treatment.

Nursing education & professional development

Orientation

At KUH we ensure every nurse receives a comprehensive orientation to align with our high standards of care. All our nurses begin with a thorough hospital-wide orientation that focuses on our values and patient care philosophy. They then undergo specialized, unit-based training, where they gain and learn unit-specific skills and protocols to provide exceptional care in their area of expertise.

Preceptorship program

Our Preceptor Program pairs nurses with experienced mentors who train and guide them through the transition to new units. Under the preceptor’s supervision, new nurses gain the skills and confidence needed to care for patients independently. This program also provides leadership opportunities for experienced nurses to mentor and support their colleagues.

In-service training

In-service training programs are ongoing educational opportunities designed to enhance the clinical skills and knowledge of our nursing staff, ensuring they remain up to date with the latest healthcare practices and advancements.

Continuous Education

Continuous education is a cornerstone of nursing professional development. Through a structured framework that includes certifications, Inservice training, eLearning, and more, KUH empowers nurses to meet regulatory requirements, enhance clinical skills, and stay current with best practices. This commitment to lifelong learning ensures high-quality care and supports our mission to foster excellence in nursing practice.

Certification

Certified Nurses at KUH demonstrate advanced skills and knowledge, going beyond basic RN licensure to provide exceptional patient care. KUH nurses will have the opportunity for certification to enhances professional growth, improve patient outcomes, and highlight mastery in specialized areas of care. It’s an opportunity for nurses to advance their careers while ensuring the highest standards of care.

Simulation Training

The KUH simulation center will play a significant role training, allowing staff to learn and practice the competencies required for their respective units. As there will be variations among staff in terms of experience, competencies, and skills, the nursing simulation program will add value for all staff by addressing those variations effectively.

Nurse Residency Program

We are committed to developing the Nurse Residency Program to support new graduate nurses and those with little experience as they transition into clinical practice. Through workshops, research, and mentorship, this program enhances clinical skills, critical thinking, and leadership abilities, helping nurses build a strong foundation for a successful nursing career.

Mentorship Program

As part of our future initiatives, we aim to implement a mentorship program that will pair experienced nurses with new or transitioning staff. This program will be designed to foster a supportive and collaborative nursing environment, provide guidance, promote professional growth, and strengthen clinical confidence through shared knowledge and peer support.
